I would like to explore the possibility of living with a family in Scotland for several months. See Hadrians wall. Play with Nessie in the Loch. Work with herding dogs. The whole experience. It will be a year before I can do this. I am a retired adult.

What a great idea! I would check with a community college or university near you. They may have info re: foreign exchange students and hosts. Another possibility would be to check with churches for similar programs. Or, if you have the inclination, check with a vicar in Scotland; he may know of several people who would love your company. Best wishes.
