Tell them:
"I'm sorry for saying such a hurtful thing to you while I was drunk".
That says it all.

Tell them honestly that you did not mean the things you said. They may believe you or may not. However, if the booze only brought out the way you really feel you might need to deal with that. Many people believe that drunken words are truthful words because the inhibitions have been removed. You can only hope that the person you hurt is of a forgiving nature.

Can you say 'Mel Gibson'? So many people jumped all over him, and said that there was no forgiveness - that when your inhibitions are removed, the truth comes out. I really don't believe that - I just think that your lips get loose. Just tell them what you said here, and then pray that they've got a forgiving nature. But if that doesn't work, don't sweat it. True friends forgive and move on. Good luck.

You need to be honest with them and do it soon. Tell them you are sorry for saying mean things to them while you was drunk and that you didn't really mean it and let the alcohol get the better part of you. That you are truly sorry and wish they are able to forgive you cause their friendship really means a lot to you.

Just be as open and honest as you possibly can and hope for the best. Are you sure the things that you said when you were drunk were'nt the truth? A friend of mine once said this:
A drunk speaks a sober mind.

I think you have to really, really sit down and talk to that person about what happened. because, i have a few family members who drink a lot, and when they drink, the more they drink, they casue problems and incidents that set huge gaps in the family. it just causes a whole lot of problems. so i would say just have a serious conversation with them and tell how you really feel.

Don't worry.....I've done it too. The best way is to go to them, look them in the eye and tell them sincerely how sorry you are. It must have been somewhere in the recesses of your mind or you wouldn't have told them.......friends always give friends another chance......that's what friends are for.
Try it and pleeeeease let me know. I know for a fact that you will keep them forever......trust me.......its my intuition

Be direct and sincere. Hopefully you don't do this on a regular basis or said anything that they would consider unforgivable. Apologizing lets them know you are sorry but it doesn't guarantee that you will be forgiven or that things will be ok.

Talk to them from your heart and they will know if you are sincere or not. Remember that actions are louder than words and your actions will reflect how you truly feel in the days to come.
Forgiveness will be there if you want it bad enough.
Good luck !
