I only believe in reincarnations on Y!A. ... The Life Form as we “know” it is too much of a phenomenological oversight to even be worth our reincarnating feats of swami magic. I have long donated all my reincarnating rights to Evolution – the crude recycler of the biologically rejected. ...... I prefer to enjoy my transcendental mocha elsewhere. You wanna come?

I believe it would be a waste to create a soul and then never use it again. There is at least one living person who is pretty good evidence for reincarnation. Buddhists believe in reincarnation, of course, and they believe that each Dali Lama is the reincarnation of all previous Dali Lamas. Usually, when a Dali Lama is about to die, he gives instructions on about where his reincarnated form will be. The previous Dali Lama died suddenly, however, and Lamas fanned out trying to find his reincarnation. After a few years, they came across a 3 year old boy who had always told his parents that he would live in a palace in the capital city. They showed him several items, including some which had belonged to the previous Dali Lama, and he immediately identified those as belonging to him. He was then proclaimed the Dali Lama, and still holds that position today.

I do not know...As we all know...Reincarnation is an ancient philosophy that states the soul is not perfect, physical life is the classroom and the soul must return, be reincarnated, time and time again until it learns the lessons of life and breaks free of the cycle.

Yes, friends of mine cite instance after instance where they were someplace else and even in a foreign country living when events happened, etc and they cite this as having been reincarnated, etc.

Critics of Reincarnation have many silly rationalizations to explain away people's past life memories. To a surprisisngly many... they see...that basically the system of Reincarnation exists. And... that a person ignoring it is simply not taking control of their destiny and benefiting from experiences in the distant past.

This is a very good question. I will try to explain as clearly as possible. However be aware that words convey only a limited meaning. So this limitation is there in this answer too.

Yes, I believe in reincarnation.
Do you know the law of conservation of energy and matter in science ? It says that matter and energy can never be destroyed but it can only be converted from one form to another. No matter what you do, nobody can destroy even a tiny particle of sand completely. It can only be converted into some other form of matter or energy.

If this holds good for materials (inanimate objects including energy) then why should it not hold good for soul or spirit ?
If noone can destroy even a tiny particle completely then how do you think that something like a soul or spirit can be destroyed ?
So it can only take one form or another which people call
'reincarnation' in English.

One arguement against reincarnation is that 'why don't i remember my previous life / lives ?' To answer that let me ask you - are you the same person that was once one year old or two years old ? If yes then do you remember all the events during your days when you were say 1 or 2 years old ? Be truthful, how many events and daily happenings does one normally remember of infancy and childhood. But still you are the same person, aren't you ?

Right, since our brain can't even remember events of the days when we were too young though we are in the same body, how do you expect our mind to remember events of previous lives when we were not in the same body ? Just because you can't remember your previous lives normally does not mean there was no previous life for you. Just like if you don't remember events of days when you were 1 year old does not mean that you are not the same person.

Then why don't people normally remember events of previous life ? Why does god set it that way ? Well, in each life we are supposed to live properly and learn as much as we can. Don't you think that memory of extremely good or bad previous life will be a hinderance in this learning process ? Yes. So the God has set it that way.

But, if someone thinks he or she can end his or her life to get away from suffering or pain then beware - that person is making big mistake. First he can never get rid of pain that way since it will follow him or her in the next incarnation. But by committing a suicide he is committing a heinous sin. It is a very big sin and he will suffer much more (with interest added) in then next lives.

So be calm and cool. Take pleasure and pain in life as they come. Accept them. Try to get least affected by them. Do a sincere and rational effort to improve your life and increase your happiness and reduce suffering. That is the best way to cut effects of bad deeds of past and is the right approach.

Live in present. Past is bygone (don't forget the lessons though but don't keep worrying or repenting). Do not keep dreaming about future - it may be just waste of time. But live in present. Work properly and improve the present (from what you know and what you have learnt) and future is bright and better for you.

We are all playing our part in the God's creation.
One should try to play his or her part in the best possible way and have a right and noble approach.
That is the way to be happy.
That is the way that leads to the eternal happiness.

Yes...my neice, up until she was 4 yrs. old would sometimes talk about being a school teacher in her past life. She wouls say that there were no buses for kids to ride and they had to pack lunches in a "bundle". She also spoke of doing laundry on a washboard. She has never been left in a day care or never had any exposure to the school environment. ..but somehow she had alot of details on how things wre done in the older days. She then started telling her that she would her her when she was a baby and changed her mothers cloth diapers. When her mom told her that it was impossile for such a thing to happen be she hadn't been born yet,...my neice just gave her a smile with the look of feeling sorry for her mom and said" mom that was when I was big....now I'm little againe silly."

yes...

well, you know that little term: deja vu? from the belief that something has happened before. or, more uncommonly, you've made that mistake before. life is a process for the soul until she gets it right. which is why we have deja vu; until we live fully and happily, we reincarnate.

also, it has a lot to do with my cultural background. when i was a girl, my mom and aunts read my fortune...apparently my life was cut short previously and i reincarnated back into a human instead of going through stages as animals, insects, trees, etc.,

I think I answered this question in my past life. I'm not sure because I don't remember it. NO, I don't believe in reincarnation.

Yes, I do. Have you ever seen really gifted children that can play the piano with relative ease? I believe it is a carry over from a whole past lifetime of playing piano.

If we didn't have movies or television, would we still have dreams of other places and times? If yes, where would the images come from?

No,
Demonstration?
I don't see a single proof or example of reincarnation, so naturally i assume it does not exist.
