Try checking for spark and fuel, If you got both of those try checking gin. wiring and wiring to the starter. If you have power to the starter, pull the starter off and have it bench tested. Check the crank position sensor. Dont over look wiring or the ignition switch. Take of the dist. cap and make sure the rotor is spinning other wise it is time for either a new dist. gear or even a cam. Make sure the timing is still set since you put on a new dist. cap. You may have bumped it. Replace the FUEL FILTER and PLUGS

If it cranks, the problem could be a worn distributor. If it does not crank, check the starter. Additionally, it could be the fuel pump in the gas tank... most vehicles with fuel injection have 2 pumps. Good Luck!

a cartoon from ww2 era stars stripes magazine is,i think, applicable here. a mangled jeep lies on a sloppy, muddy dirt road.standing next to the jeep is a former calvary soldier,an officer, with his pistol out and pointed at the jeep, ready to put it out of its misery.it's breaking the poor guy's heart to do it;but he can't and won't let the poor 'beastie' suffer,so he'll shoot it. so suck it up !!! put your poor heart and brain dead truck out of misery!!!! besides it's only a gmc, what were you thinking, putting any money into a gmc truck?they ought to be giving mega-money to you and a new vehicle to you, free and clear, to take care of all the pain, sufering, anguish&humiliation for having a gmc truck in your possesion!!!!!!!! goobye and good luck!!!!

Wow! you replaced pretty much everything! Sounds like you focused on electronics because no spark from spark plugs? Am I right? Okay... whatelse yep, one more thing to be replaced.

"Crankshaft Position Sensor."

If it fails, it won't make any sparks at all.
Good Luck

On my 1994 GMC Sierra K1500 (5.7L V8 w/automatic transmission), the relay is mounted high on the firewall on the right side (passenger side in the US).

make sure you put the rotor in the right position or you may have to redo the whole thing and make sure the wires are on the right spark plugs

Try with the starter or the alternator and see if one of those or both, needs to be replaced or repaired.
