Count pills, take the prescriptions, talk to customers, ring the register and call the doctor. You do just about everything the pharmacist does but he is responsible for your actions. He has to verify everything you do. I have worked in a pharmacy front store for many years and the people that work in the pharmacy are pretty stressed working there. Remember your dealing with alot of sick cranky people and if you don't like working in a people oriented business and with sick people don't work at a pharmacy.

I worked at Kroger Pharmacy for 2 years and Fry's Food and Drug for 4 years. My duties included accepting the Rxs from patients at the window, typing the information from the Rx into the computer system, entering and calling insurance information to bill the rxs, actually billing the rxs, calling Dr's offices, counting and filling the rxs, shelving the drugs when the order came in,ringing up items at the cash register, helping people locate OTC medications (and sometimes even things like cat food) in the store, I even had to testify in an RX forgery case once while I worked there. LOL.
Now, I work in a clinic pharmacy but I did enjoy working in supermarket pharmacies. There are a lot of different people working with you, not just pharmacy employees. Pharmacy employees tend to be Ultra-stressed while they are at work and sometimes it is nice to sit down to your lunch break with a deli worker and chat about something OTHER than work. LOL.
