The ABC made for TV movie, "The Path to 9/11", which airs on Sunday and Monday, is a movie that is supposed to depict the latter years of the Clinton administration in which is depicts ow they failed to kill Osma Bin Laden. However, many Clinton officials came out over the past couple of days, such as Madaline Albright and Bruce R. Linsday, saying that the movie is fabracated and many scenes are untrue. The dircetor of this film came out today saying that the film is a "dramazitation" and many scenes were fabricated, but still based on the 9/11 commision's report. It also has came out that early screenings were given to Conservative commentators, such as Rush Limbaugh. Does anybody else think this is the REAL 9/11 conspiracy, to throw all the blame on Clinton? I do belive he is somewhat responisble for the failures, but not most of them. I aslo don't believe in 9/11 conspiracy theory.

It also says he was distracted by the Monica Lywinskey scandal, so that's one of the reasons he failed to get Bin Laden. That's a load of elephant crap. And I mean the GOP, not the animal (though one can argue their isn't much of a difference)

A dangerous lie. Dangerous for our democracy. The facts as recounted by reputable journalists, the people involved and the 9-11 Commission, are that Bush was the one given urgent, imminent warnings which he ignored.

During Clinton's term there was not an instance where soldiers were on the ground waiting for the order to kill Bin Laden which never came. Republicans criticized Clinton for firing missiles, for trying to kill Bin Laden, saying Clinton was only doing this to distract from the Lewinsky scandal. THEY downplayed the threat.

Bush was not interested in pursuing terrorists at all or keeping up on intelligence until AFTER 9-11. He ignored the warnings of his terrorism chief, Richard Clark from January 01 through September 01. He got a briefing from the CIA in early August warning him that Bin Laden was a threat. Bush disregarded this believing the agent was only covering his butt. He got a Presidential Daily Brief in August 01 titled "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US." Despite this, he continued his vacation in TX and was reading to schoolchildren in Florida at the time of the strike.

I plan to watch it. Becouse I read the 9/11 Commission Report. So don't judge this mini series as a lie. There is a mix of fiction in with the fact. For one thing most of the counter terrorism measures which prevented FBI and CIA to talk one another had been in place prior to 9/11. One could argue that Clinton was asleep at the switch; not to mention a number of beaurocats and red tape that got in the way. Personelly I blame the bloated system not the presidents. The commission report didn't put blame on neither Bush nor Clinton. The real conspiracy in my opinion is at the time nothing was done to stop Bin Laden. So what if the mini series irks Bruce Lindsey, Maddy Albright, I can tell you this series from what I heard doesn't paint to much of a flattering pic of George Tenet neither. Sandy Burger is upset over this series. I say so what. Sometimes the truth hurts.

Agreed,

Its a lot more accurate and factual that Fauranheit 911
Even with these details.

Clinton knew enough about 9/11 (or rather he & the administration) to do something about it.

That alone makes him as guilty, if not more.

The funniest thing, is all the uproar about path as compared to Moore's lies in F911 ...

Were were they when the same was being done then.
Typical of democrats, pure hyprocrisy.

ABC should air the move as is...with no editing.
Especially since democrats allowed F911 as is & didnt threatren ABC over it.

Its very obvious that those who currently oppose it the most are those who have yet to even see it.

F911 - had less than 65% of the movie as accurate.
People in both parties agree its very little inaccurancy.
Path - 96% accurate even according to democrats.

Democrats, typical. gripe about it when it happens to them, and do nothing when it happens to your opponents.

Virtually no-one who has seen it says anywhere near what Clintons team of complainers have said which proves that they havent seen it yet.

Ummm.... Yeah... It was Clinton that failed to have the fighter jets shoot down the plane. No... That was bush...

It was Clinton that had the latest intel DAYS before it happened. No.... That was bush too...

It was Clinton that was linked both personally and by business to Bin Laden. No... I seem to recall that being bush as well...

Clinton made a lot of mistakes, but when it comes right down to it, bush is responsible for what happened on that day. Along with MANY others, of course.

Most movies are made for the dramatic side of the story & not fully from facts.
There may have been some of the 'blame' going back as far as Clinton, but no one in the US would have had a clue that the cowards who perperated those horrible crimes against innocent people could ever happen. It still seems unreal...but I know better now.

It is particularly ironic for Sandy Berger to exhort ABC about truthfulness, given that he STOLE CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS FROM THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES!!!!!!!!

Liberals are quite hypocritical, aren't they!

I think if it is a dramatization with fabricated scenes, then what is the point of even showing it? I thought it was going to be a documentary about true events.
