It hurts but when it's over and you see your baby you will quickly forget the pain. My twins were really not that bad. They were born 6 minutes apart. They were born early so they were small (4 lbs each) and therefore a lot easier to push out. My last was 8 lb 4 oz and his delivery was horrible. Don't worry too much about what to do. When the time comes the doctors and nurses will all be there to help you. Consider taking birthing classes. They will teach you techniques to manage the pain and other essential things for a first time mother. If you are too worried about pain just get an epidural. I felt nothing at all with my second delivery using an epidural - I slept until it was time to push.

Your body will change. That is something you need to accept. You will look and feel different. The best thing to do if you are afraid of labor is have an epidural. I haven't had it done. My babies were both c-section, but from the 100s of women that I have been given advise from, they told me that have an epidural. Some of them said it was a breeze even and that they didn't feel much. Good luck with everything.
I read that your boyfriend left...I'm sorry for that. Is is also 18? Men--well boys--that age tend to do that often because of the fear of the unknown..fear of being a parent..fear of losing adolescence. I don't understand what you wrote about your new BF. He doesn't know what yet? That your pregnant? If that is the case, TELL HIM! If you don't, and he finds out otherwise, he will dump you.

Just get all the information you can on labor. There are books and you can visit the maternity ward, your doctor can answer questions, theres even TV shows.
Labor hurts different for every woman because every woman reacts different. The more fear you have and the more tense you are the more it hurts. Its better to be relaxed and just let nature take its course. If labor was really THAT bad women would never have more than one child. But siblings are far more common than single children.
Also, the more active you're able to stay during pregnancy, and the more stretching you do through out, the easier delivery will be.
The most important thing is to not be afraid of it. Having babies is what your body was designed to do, and it does it quite well when you let it.

It hurts however women have been doing it for many years. Most survive so you will too. Besides they have plenty of good drugs to help with pain now days. I think you should be more concerned about after labor. If you have twins the first year will be harder than labor. It was for me anyways. Make sure you have a good support system and the best of luck to you.

It's a different experience for different people. I hear all these stories about how your insides feel like they are on fire and being twisted and everything, but I never had any of that. I had a very pleasant pregnancy, and a very easy labor and delivery compared to what I have heard and read. No pain at all (trust me, I'd say if I did, I'm a big baby), just really uncomfortable contractions. But it never hurt or was unbearable.

at first it may resemble bad menstural cramps but the it gets worse... your whole stomach will tighten and it is very painful... they are called contractions and this is what makes the cervix open... they have pain medication you can recive to help ease the pain and there are epidurels to numb you so you can relax, maybe get some sleep, and not feel the contractions, and sometimes you won't even feel the baby coming out. You better tell your new man about you being pregnant... the longer you wait the harder it will be to tell him and if you wait too long then tell him he may get more mad you didn't tell him right away. It is alright to be scared... I think almost all first time mothers get scared... it is only normal. Good luck

You will hear so many different stories, every labor is different. So no one can tell you how much it will hurt.
The video scared me too.
My experience was "uncomfortable"
good luck

It hurts. Bottom line. And it's hard work...that's why it's called "labor". There are medications that reduce the amount of pain and help take the edge off, so talk to your doctor about that option.

Labour hurts differently for everybody. Don't worry though there are great pain killers out there.
You have to tell the new guy that you are pregnant with some one else's baby. He has the right to know.
