My goats have attacked my pecan tree and they have eaten a good bit of bark off. Is there any way I can repair this so the tree will live?

the use of pruning sprays are questionable. there are equally valid arguements on both sides. if you start to see fungus or insect damage in the wound i would treat the new problem and then spray.

for the most part, the tree will live or die regardless of your actions according to the damage done.

keep the goats away from it and leave the tree alone. If not too severe it should heal(build calous were bark stops). Do not use pruning spray it slows the healing process.

backyard mowers and weedeaters do extra damage to timber than insects. The tree ought to heal itself. i'd bypass to the backyard midsection and get some tape that carry tomato flowers to stakes and wrap the bottom for about per week to assist it alongside.

i don't think you can unless you can get some bark off of another tree and try to graft it and that's not a guarantee
