San Marino's international record was one of almost total failure, with famous draws against Latvia and Liechtenstein being the only partial successes in an international career that contains over 70 defeats. However, on the 29 April 2004, San Marino recorded their first ever win, with a 1-0 victory over Liechtenstein in an international friendly. Andy Selva scored the only goal in a close game that finally gave this tiny republic a footballing victory.
THAT GOOD IS SAN MARINO !!!!!!

What are you guys so happy about - Germany beating San Marino? What did the two sides learn from the match? Nothing! Forme, the German players learnt nothing about soccer from their opponents; their hosts would be unhappy at their hapless situation so it was a loss for both countries. The Germans should face countries their size while San Marino should face Faroes Islands, Lietchenstein, Andorra etc. Are you listening, UEFA?

It's certainly a great game in terms of goals... but I do feel a bit sorry for San Marino, cos their confident had just been smashed by the Germans. On the contrast, the Germans had gained not just confidence, but the number of top scorers so far in the qualifying stage.

basically san marino is considered as the third smallest country in earth after the Vatican City and Monaco, but monaco has larger population than san marino. what's amazing about germany winning that game? i didn't consider it as a game anyway, it's like germany playing alone.
for those who don't know san marino is found in italy.

to be honest with you, it's kinda crazy that a team like san marino, can even field a team, it was more like a practice for germany, but what can you say, it can't be too hard when your playing a country who's total population is smaller then the smallest stadium germany used in the world cup(seating wise)

I think San Marino's soccer team is roughly the equivalent of the high school I use to go to.

I guess Poldoski is the proudest because now he's forcing Oleg Salenko to share the record for scoring the most goals in a match with him.
