When I feel a sinus infection coming on, I take 3 to 4 Echinacea tablets a day (available at health food stores and pharmacies). I also have hot baths with a few drops of essential oils of lavender, peppermint and rosemary (helps to drain the sinus cavities), this would probably work in a sink instead of a tub, just steam your face over it. I find this method is very successful for me.

Snort warm salt water. Hurts like the dickens, but will clear out your sinus infection. I was on anti-biotics for over 6 months trying to get rid of one. Finally using OTC products with Guafinesan (sp?) increased fluid intake, and saline flushing my nose did the trick. I now use a 10 ml syringe to shoot warm salt water into my sinus cavity and it loosens up the gunk and gets it out of there.

Before you think that may you have sinus infection make sure you don't have Candida because it causes the same symptoms treating it with no results just like I had. I saw many different Doctors that were Specialist on Nose,Ears and Trout for years and no one said anything about it, I was very surprised when I started to treat Candida my sinus started to clear finally for first time in many many years

I rubbed some vitamin c on my stomach (why? - to reduce the candida)
on my chest ( to reduce the congestion in the lungs) and on the sinus area of my face.
I added some salt ( 1 teaspoon ) to one gram of high quality vitamin c (no additives)
I did this for a week and if I felt worse I saw an alternative medicine doctor
It cured my sinus infection of 7 years. More details if you are interested

stay warm esp thru the nite so u don't have to do so much protocol on nose blowing and head steaming in the morning.Try a nice cup of hot tea(spicy tea more appropirate)with milk and honey.Baby aspirin with it if ur Gp things its okay.Morning with a cup of hot tea will ease the nose and make the blowing less stressful. But a large portion of the nite should be spent really resting and not restless, like some one said a nap with a baby will work wonders esp if the baby knows what a real good nap is. ha ha ha.

Go online and look for something called a Neti Pot. You put warm water and salts in the Neti Pot and it cleanses your sinuses. This is good for colds, sinus infections and also cures allergies. Natural health care at its best! Good luck!
