I had my son 3 months ago, on May 25th, and am curious to find out when I will start menstruating again. I know that for breasfeeding mothers, it can sometimes take up to a year to get your period again. I breastfed for about a month but he is bottle fed now. Any ideas??

Just because you have not started your period does not mean that you can't get pregnant! It is a common myth that breastfeeding will keep you from getting pregnant.

If you are not ready for another baby right away, you should get on birth control or you could have a real big surprise.
There is no set time period to getting pregnant again. It can happen the first week after delivery if you choose to have sex, or it could take months.

My friend and her brother are only 12 months apart because her mother didn't have a period while she was breastfeeding. She thought you couldn't get pregnant.
She got pregnant when her baby was 3 months anyway.

Your period should be starting back up anytime now. If it doesn't happen in a month or 2, i would ask the Dr. about it.

The day after you have the baby you can get pregnant if you have sex. You are very fertile after you have a baby. I breast fed my little boy for about 1 month and I had my period regular it didn't take any time for that thing to come back around. I wish it wouldn't have sometimes you know!!!

I had my daughter 3 months ago and already have had two periods, you should probably call your doctor about not having one. I only nursed for a week though, because she couldn't tolerate my milk. But, my doctor told me I could get pregnant immediately. You are more fertile after you have just had a baby. I was also told that even though you may have irregular periods while breastfeeding, you can still get pregnant.

You can get pregant way before you start getting your period again. You can and people have gotten pregnant as soon as 6-8 weeks within having the last baby, the only thing you want to be careful about is while breast feeding and you get pregnant the bresfeeding baby is not getting the correct milk, it is getting new milk that your now pregnant body is producing

You should start menstruating soon if not see your doctor you may not be ovulating. You miss a lot of a toddler if you have a newborn right with it. My friend got pregnant 6 weeks after the birth of her son.

You can get pregnant any time after you have sex. There is no waiting period. If you were nursing it may take awhile though. If you don't want another baby yet you should probably get some condoms.

My brother and I are a year, a week and a day apart. My mother breastfed both of us. My sister-in-law was the same way. Her kids are a year and 13 days apart. I guess it depends on your cycle, how regular you are and how active you are on becoming pregnant again.

as soon as you start ovulating again then you may become pregnant....which can occur even before you start menstrating again. For every woman it is different. Sometimes it takes a womans body a while to adjust back to "normal"

i would go to the dr. my dr. said that after you give birth, it's easy to get pregnant fairly quickly. it's due to the fact that you are irregular and ovulate irregularly. i didn't breast feed and i got mine back about a month after i gave birth. i've heard that about breast feeding too so, i have no idea what's possible if you breastfed for a month.
