Roaches can be controlled by Boric Acid, like others have suggested, but let me also share you some tips from my exterminator.

1. Papers and books: roaches can insulate themselves in any pile of paper, including stored paper bags from the grocery, cardboard boxes, and books. Roaches can live on the glue from a binder of a book for years.

2. Water: any standing pool of water is an oasis to roaches. Make sure to dry all wet surfaces before going to bed, such as sinks, counters, and dishes.

3. Food: obviously, this is number one. Wash all dishes before going to bed, dry them, and put them away. Wash and dry the drainer, or, if using a dishwasher, empty it out and dry it out, leaving the door open to remove staleness. Never leave food sitting out, even drink glasses.

4. Temperature: roaches love heat. Keep your house as cool as possible. With summer slowly disappearing, the amount of roaches in your home will increase as they try to find warmer areas.

5. Electronics: if you aren't using it, turn it off! Roaches LOVE to snuggle into warm electrical appliances (VCRs, DVD players, fridges, ovens, etc.). When treating your home, place electronics in a cool storage area for a week or so.

Hope this helps! I am a victim because I live in an urban area, where my neighbors just don't care, so I get their residual bugs.

Boric acid powder is natural and safe. Look for it in your laundry detergent section.

Boric acid. You can sprinkle it in your cabinets & everywhere that children won't get into it.
