Of course, the answer is that he didn't have anything to do with the prices going up, and he doesn't have anything to do with them going down; but it's still interesting that everyone blamed him when they were $3+, but no one is thanking him when they started to fall...

When are conservatives going to give liberals crdit for LOWERING the amount of prejudice and bigotry in America?

Look at this conservative crap:
they already made up a conspiracy theory that goes like: Bush lowered gas price so aliens will give him more oil.
Wrong!

Great question. Well, your logic is pretty much correct. But the problem is that everyone needs gas - it's what makes America prosperous - getting to work, etc. Where the administration has failed is in allowing the gouging going on just because it's now hurricane season again. In my opinion, an oil company can't raise prices because of a tropical storm, while posting billions of dollars profit.

The solution the government might take is worthless for the average consumer. Applying a windfall profits tax does nothing to lower the prices, it just puts more money back into the government's pocket. So the American working guy gets bloodsucked either way.

We all wanted Clinton impeached after he boned Harmonica now everyone wants Bush out because of Iraq.
In that position you certainly can never win.

Actually, the price should have fallen even more, but Bush has already suggested that the oil recently found off the coast of LA and Texas (largest in history) be used mainly for US reserves. America uses about 5 billion per day, this location can produce up to 15 billion per day. And don't you also think it's ironic that the prices come down right before the elections???? DAAHHHH

Fall? Yeah that's funny...I didn't blame Bush for gas prices and I don't blame him now. But yeah my gas prices have only gone up...I think I saw it at like $3.02 a few weeks ago...lowest I've seen in a while. I'm not as worried as the peopla driving SUVs my friends spend $80 a week filling their tanks

He'll probably get some credit if they STAY lower. A lot of economic forecasters say that the lowering is only temporary, and when people start to need heat in cold weather, they'll go up again.

That's an EXCELLENT question! They all blame him for his "Big Oil Buddy" connections causing prices to go through the roof. Now prices are falling quickly and you don't hear a peep from 'em.

He is responsible, partly, for the gas prices skyrocketing. As for the price of gas going down, it hasn't gone down enough to thank anyone yet. The current drop could just be a fluke for all we know... tomorrow it could be higher. No credit given for flukes to anyone.

Oh Please, they are still higher than they were a year ago and the oil companies (doesn't he own one?) are making record profits!!! If you are going to give him credit for lowering the prices, don't you think you have to give him a little blame for raising them in the first place???? It's the old "one step forward, two steps back" theory.
