The Confederate States of America [CSA] was made up of some of the states that allowed slavery, so the correct answer is B.

Slave holding states that never joined the CSA included Maryland and Kentucky.

Tennessee and Missouri sent representatives to both the CSA and the USA and the CSA counted them as members. However, both states were mostly controlled by the Union [USA] for the majority of the rebellion - certainly after 1862 - and the USA always counted them as members in "good standing" and seated their Senators and Representatives. Andrew Johnson from Tennessee was the Vice President in Lincoln's 2d term.

Confederate State were the free states. You do know that the Civil War was not really about freeing the slaves right? It was about taxing the owners for having them.

All the slave states and some free states. The civil war was not about slavery, but economics, and I have always thought Lincoln could have prevented it with a little common sense.
