If it was about the oil, we would take over Iraq with 450,000 soldiers and rape the land dry. There would be no one that could stop us, save China and Russia, and I doubt that they would, for the economic boosts they receive from us.
Gas in the US would be under $2 again, and there would be no worries about cheaper methods of heating our homes, or fueling our cars. Oil would be it.
So, yes, terrorism is the main concern.
Now, I'm realistic, and I do believe that terrorism is not the ONLY concern. What good would it do to "save" everyone from terrorism, and help another country (at great expense), if there was nothing in it for us in the long run?
Fact is, it wouldn't. Yet, it wouldn't do us to have Iraq as an enemy either. We needed another "ally", as it were, in the middle-east region, and it had to be a country that had financial possibilities, as well as a strategic military location. It also had to be a country that would offer us the least resistance going in, which Iraq was, for many reasons.
It's MY belief that Iraq was "easy" (when compared to the loss of life sustained in most wars) because it's not what Hussein expected.
I could go on and on about this, but I wouldn't want to waste my time.
In some ways, yes, the rest of the world is a slave to the US. Why? Because they know if they openly oppose us, it will cost them. Not only will it cost them the status quo, but it will cost them our aid in times of trouble.
We do not believe that Muslims are evil. We believe that TERRORISTS are evil. They aren't real Muslims, any more than the "Christians" who bomb abortion clinics are actually Christians.
There's a lot you obviously don't know about the US. You would be best served to not judge unless you're American, and even many Americans aren't qualified to judge. THAT is because the majority of Americans are ignorant of the world, history, and our own government.
And you can't trust any news media completely, either. They all have their own agenda.
PS Next time, use spell check. That way, you won't have to worry about people criticizing your spelling and refusing to answer your question.

it's not just bush- this kind of thing has been going on for decades. bush just made it blatantly clear to americans and the rest of the world how easy it is to be duped.
does the "american political agenda" (in place of bush) care about other countries? not if there is a resource involved.
look, a country may be eating live children and kicking puppies all day and we would look the other way if we were getting a kickdown of their resources.
sure, we give humanitarian aid to places sometimes, but that's because those in charge are usually pressured to.
most of these oil rich countries do fine by themselves. not to say that there is no torture in these places, but if we really wanted to make a difference somewhere, we should go to africa.
but we don't.
why?......

They DID find WMD's! And no, we're not pilfering your oil! I'm so SICK of that ignorant drivel from people who can't connect two dots and go to the lowest denominator of conspiracy theories. We didn't steal your oil in 1991 and we're not stealing it today! Oil is at an all-time record high in the US. We have certainly not had a massive influx of supply! In fact, it's in the US's best interest that Arab countries produce their own oil, because then we don't have to subsidize you as much! Economically self-sufficient countries are good for everyone and lead to greater regional stability!!

"You'll get everythin you want in life if you just help enough people get what they want"
Its a qoute i want to present to you. For me its perfectly fine that Bush is going for the oil as long as hes helping the Iraq to stand up on its own.
