Please HELP me. I have been looking for some interesting topics yet my teacher hasn't approved any of them yet, saying "they don't have an edge." The real problem is, I can't think of any topic that can be really considered as an "issue".

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Why Art and Politics do not mix.

(does art exist for it's own sake, or should it serve some sociological purpose)

This question is a bit "wide" in scope. When I taught as a discussion leader for a humanities survey course, here is one of the questions the students had to answer. It is 'wide' because in their answer, they had include examples of philosophy, religion, art and music.

What is more important for society: the rights of the individual or the rights of the group?
Be sure to answer why, who, etc.

You can include examples from ancient philosophy all the way up to modern society.

I don't know if this has an "edge" or not, but it is certainly encompassing.

I think that research on the effects of our changing society on the development of children. 100 years ago the parents were the ones who dictated the care a child recieves. Today government really has taken over control of rearing children. Looking at the recent court case on the teen who didn't want to take chemotherapy for cancer is a good example.
