I think that it is a little of both. Learned partially by the way I have seen my family laugh as I have grown up. But also innate, I didn't like the sarcasm of an ex and his family they were very sarcastic.

it comes from the way you look at life, if your serious all the time you probably dont laugh much being you have to have control over things to feel good on the other hand some people in dire circumstances have a great sense of humor because they have resigned themselves from uncontrollable situations so they find humor as a coping mechanism I think its learned when were very young by our own families

God.
And I think it can either be innate or learned, but I think learned is less spontaneous. Innate humor is the funniest.

I'm sarcastic, and I don't know where I learned that. I've always been a smartass ever since I was a kid. I think it's innate.

I thought I had a sense of humor but then I took a personality test and it came back BLANK. Apparently I have no personality.

It's learned. It's a survival technique. First, to deflect conflict. Next, to displace sadness and pain.
