I have become facinated by the idea. I fancy giving it a try - but I don't quite know how to open the subject with my wife. Any ideas gratefully considered.

Not sure where you are but there's a top swingers club in Sheffield called Le Chambre, i saw it on a tv programme some time back.
Looks very well fitted out and not seedy like you'd expect.
I think you need to be a couple to get into these places or be prepared for your wife to be the only fit women there and get hammered by 10 guys while you can only watch.
Yes approach her about it, but i sort of have the feeling that you should know by now if she was up for it or not.
