Mickey Mouse is portrayed as a black mouse (while mice are normally white). Donald Duck is white. Donald Duck is kinda stupid and has speech problems while Mickey is the clever one.

So what's Disney trying to say is that blacks are more smart than whites. Why would he say that? I thought Walt was a nice guy?

I call it positive discrimination...

When Disney made the very first Mickey cartoon they did not have the capability to do it in colour. Only Black and white.

If Mickey had been done as a white mouse with black outlines it would have looked very confusing on film to see mickey against all the other background also done in white with black outlines. The finished product would have looked very bad. It was probably a lot easier to fill in his body with black so that he stood out against everything else. Its just simple graphic design. Once he had been established as a black mouse he kind of had to stay that way. He was the icon for the whole corporation. If they made him look different afterwards it would have been like "New Coke" and blown up in their faces. There is nothing wrong with mickey being black I don't think it has any Racial implications at all.

You are retarded. I've never heard anything so senseless in my life. Mickey Mouse is black because he was created way back when everything was in black and white. When color was available all they changed was the color of clothing. If he was white it would look horrible against black and white backgrounds. And just because all the mice you see in pet stores are white doesn't mean that's the color they normally are. Wild ones are almost never white, and Mickey obviously was never meant to be a pet mouse. All the mice I see around here in New Hampshire are either dark grey, black, or dark brown.

You have no common sense.

I may be wrong but I believe Mickey was around a lot longer then Donald...I think it was only because the film was in black & white. Portraying mickey as black made him stand out more on the film.

there is nothing positive about it. some call it affirmative action, which means that black people get an extra number of points of their college entrance tests. If i were black i would de offended- it's like the school is saying that blacks can't do it on their own so we will give them a boost. it is not positive discrimination it is just plain racism. just because a white male isn't doing it doesn't mean it's not a racist action.

Fascist attitudes linked to corporatism and conservatism . that's asserted a guy who relies upon money with the help of no longer seeing the actuality will in no way see the actuality. i imagine this sums up Holly timber with their warnings of prosecution for copying their video clips . This I see as a continuation of racism. The warnings state there'll be severe criminal consequences ,5 365 days reformatory sentences, 250,000 fines for copyright infringement. also possibly Gandhian strategies and new Civil Rights stream required to modify to public practise ban thinking earnings leisure.

You are making a big deal over nothing at all. the world does NOT need your stupid drama. Try moving on from this if you can and try not to think anymore your too stupid.

Disney has used political statments for a long while...
Remember the war..
They have always tried to keep current with the times..
But you are being silly. Don't read so much into things.

Watch Song of the South, a movie Disney can't release because of it's racism, which...really was not there at all. Take a look.

Aren't you the same person saying that mickey ruined your life, because you have a very high pitched womanly voice?

I don't believe it. Why do you take it as discrimination, just it is for fun. I think even you laugh when you see Donald falling and getting into trouble. So take it for fun.
