Do you find this weird: In the movies, stuff that happen to or is experienced by Harry, Ron and Hermione happen to Harry only. Such as-
1. Harry overhearing McGonagall and the others talking about
Sirius Black. In the book all three hear it.
2. That Expelliarmus on Snape is only done by Harry in the
movie. (PoA)
3. Only Harry hears Crouch conjuring the Dark Mark.

Adaptation is a real monster to do and in a book as large as harry Potter, a lot is done for financial expediency as well as clarity of story

Yeah, that bothers me, too. However, the books are just too long to adapt to show in a movie theater (although, I think that true fans would sit through a 5 hour movie to get more of the revelant stuff in there). I just sit there, watch the movies and shake my head. I know the real truth, I've read the books - and the books are more important than the movies (but I'll be watching the next one when it comes out next summer).

With Harry only hearing Crouch conjuring up the Dark Mark - they left out Winky altogether in that movie. What does that tell you?

Just be proud that you have the intelligence to read the books and let that be that. (Though, I'm still wanting the 5 hour movie)

Well the book is about him!! I don't think they would emphasize somebody else hearing it as the readers won't care. They only reveal it in the end if somebody else saw/heard or knew something earlier if it was important. Like Ginny getting the diary

I think they want to focus more on Harry. And it creates more division and drama if it's just Harry saying that it happened.
