We have some nice pubs in Yorkshire for real ale and cider but they do good plain old fashioned cooking too, so not sure if you would like them, worth a try if your ever up this neck of the woods.

I dont think you can go wrong with Brewers FAyre pubs and woodrow wilson pubs, they are chain pubs and both server very good traditional food and the drinks are relatively cheap

Its called the local supermarket. You only have to queque the once. Take it home. You havent got to be polite to anyone and you can sit around in what you want and not worry about having to get home but fall asleep in the arm chair

i go to the roundhay fox (in leeds) a lot it serves a good mixture of beers and it does good food as well also the scarbourgh hotel in leeds city centre is good as it does real ale

i like Scotland better but some of the nicest were in Buckingham shire they were older and more friendly and not too dear and had open fires etc try some
