Evidently, you all still don't know the difference between HIV/AIDS and any others sexually transmitted infections (STD). AIDS is ONLY transmitted thro infected blood (transfusion, needles, wounds, etc.) and it needs a microscopic drop of it even. Any STD infection, instead can be transmitted thro EVERY human infect liquid!
Where for human liquid I mean serum, blood, saliva, sperm, urine, etc.
Well, thro the sperm you drink can take any STI disease and in the case you’ve also some little wound in the mouth, then HIV even could be taken.
OK?

No.

Saliva and stomach acids is able to destroy the virus, if the virus is not able to enter through open cold sores or any other broken skins. Virus must enter blood steam in tact to cause aid.

To be on the safe side people should not have any intimate contact with known aid virus carrying person without proper protection, and avoid open skin to open skin contact while care giving, such as dressing the wounds...... Simple hugging or kissing will not infect the relative or friends.

The biggest way that HIV is transmitted orally is if you have some sort of open sore in your mouth and the person providing the semen is positive for the virus. There is no way the virus can survive in the digestive tract, so you cannot get HIV that way. It is difficult to contract the virus orally but it is possible, so be careful.

OMG

Come ON you lot!

Okay - HIV is a virus that is destroyed by prolonged exposure to the environment, right?

However, in an amount of semen, it is somewhat protected.

If it goes into the stomach, it will be destroyed by the stomach acid.

However it can still enter the bloodstream and cause HIV infection IF it gets on a cut or any open wound in the process.

So...

Semen drinking can cause HIV infection (and hence AIDS eventually) IF the semen gets on a cut/sore/open wound on the face or in the mouth! (or even arguably in the oesophagus)

DUH!

And bioman - double DUH for you AND your BSc!

First, your partner would have to be HIV+. Depending on when he was infected, there may be relatively high levels of HIV particles in his ejaculate. HIV is actually quite difficult to contract, compared to other viruses - so a certain base level must be present for successful infection. In ejaculate, the average volume required for infection is around a teaspoonful. (Easy to visualize guide for infection: 1 drop of blood, 1 teaspoonful of ejaculate, 1 pint of saliva - hence, kissing is considered safe).

Next, mode of transmission; you will most likely be infected if you have direct ejaculate to blood contact. That will most likely occur in the mouth through diseased gums, mouth ulcers or other sores, or the site of a recent extraction/surgery.

It is highly unlikely that you would contract HIV through the lining of the mouth or oesophagus from swallowing ejaculate.

The stomach acid will destroy the HIV particles before they can be absorbed and cause an infection.

There have been a tiny number of documented cases in cohort studies of infection directly linked to swallowing. It is extremely rare but possible.
