You could begin by taking good care of yourself: Eating healthy food, getting enough rest, and exercising will make you feel good. And if YOU don't appreciate yourself, how can you expect others to do so? Take time to look after your needs, especially if you are a caregiver for others.
Make a list of the positive characteristics you possess. Don't tell me you don't have them... I know you do!! Accept yourself as the wonderful person you are. Believe it. Treat yourself as worthy of respect, and avoid situations where you are being verbally abused. Verbal abuse from someone close to you can really shatter one's self esteem. I'd try to identify the source of the problem, and deal with it.

Self esteem is all about having pride in yourself. I believe that it comes not from some inner psychoanalytic realization, but from behaving in ways which reinforce the best in you and give you that feeling.
Of course, if there are things you have done in the past which made you feel good about yourself, strong, powerful, maybe you have lost touch with the part of yourself that did those things. Then you can try and do some inner work to reclaim those parts of yourself. Replay them in your mind. Why did you do things? What made you stop doing them? Etc.
But, bottom line- do the Right Thing. Have Pride in youself. Reclaim your Power by doing something Powerful.

A couple of things you can do is pay attention to your own needs and wants, take very good care of yourself, take time to do things you enjoy, dress in clothes that make you feel good, do something nice for another person and different stuff like that should help you find your long lost self esteem.

god bless you first of all OK
Well you have to do some soul searching and let what ever happened , roll off your shoulders; If you are young it will be many times you feel less that OK ; OK so let it roll off, look Ur self in the mirror and say really no one can help me on this one other than me; so I got to buck up and pull my self together; to be weak is OK @ times( it happens in life) but DON' T let it linger . there are many good things about you , even if no one tells you, don't look to other people for that; in time you will learn to " take it" .you can do it.
and ...... as you see from some of your answers , SOME... find it humorous to see u weak:,cause they also have these problems too.
Good luck

No one is any better than anyone else. And everyone has victories, mistakes and trials.
We are all human and have everything in common.
What makes us great is keeping on when it's tough. Be proud of yourself in doing that, reward yourself and the best thing you can do is do things for others.
It gets your mind off of you and let's you enjoy seeing someone enjoy something from you.
