When they ask you, "Why don't you quit smoking?" just ask them
"Why don't you quit having sex?". And when they say, "But sex doesnt cause cancer.", you tell them "No, but it causes unplanned prenancy, abortions, and spreads STDs. I don't HAVE to smoke and you don't HAVE to have sex, so lets both quit our habits and see who lasts the longest."

If you are a smoker, you will probably quit one day....but it will happen when YOU want to....not because of people who would judge you and cast the first stone, if ya get my drift.

Well some people feel like it's there civic duty to preach, I would only mention it to you once if I cared about you! Honey, smoking does cause cancer and increases the risk of death and other health risks! I am an ex-smoker myself and I watched my Dad die literally suffocating off of the fluids in his lungs caused by cancer and pneumonia that ensued after a stroke caused by a clot in his brain and that was caused by smoking which was caused by his inability to stop smoking which increased the risk of this happening. Now I only smoked for about 1 year and 3 months but I quit about a year before he died! With that said I, don't worry for everything there is a side effect and I gather you choose to accept it so do what you want!

As a smoker I hear that speech alot. I know it is bad for me and others who are around the smoke. I don't smoke around others that let me know they don't like it. You are right only the smoker can decide when and if they can quit. By the way I don't think sex is a habit, its a biological urge that comes with being alive.

They do this because they actually regret quitting. They are missing it; will miss it for the rest of their lives, and fool themselves into thinking it makes them sick. They are a powerful group and have banded together to get smoking demonized all over a country that was built upon tobacco profits!

What it is really is that they are envious, and so desire to put everyone in the same abstaining mode that they have put themselves in; each for his/her own reason.

I quit smoking (4 packs of Pall Malls a day!) in 1987. Not for moral reasons; not because it was becoming stylish in Manhattan, but because it was beginning to affect my health and the way I felt. I have missed it every day since, though I do not regret it. I never took the holier than thou attitude that a lot of these she-she a'ssholes take, pointing the finger at people who haven't come to the "enlightened level" to which they have risen. Personally, I like it when others smoke, because I like the aroma and can derive a little vicarious pleasure from it. But in your position, if asked "why don't you quit smoking", I'd just say "why don't you just go f'uck yourself!"

And you are quite right; it'll happen when an individual decides that HE/SHE is ready to quit; not when society (bunch of lemmings and sheeple) tells them to. You can't quit for anyone else but yourself, because it won't work.

for the time of my time as a smoker, i found the main obnoxious human beings to be around have been ex-human beings who smoke. Now that i'm an ex-smoker, I attempt to no longer pass down their self-righteous course because of the fact I very needless to say bear in techniques what it became into like.

The oldest man in the world is 115. (read from a newspaper article) He quit smoking at the age of 90 and smoked for 76 years. What a shame. If he had not smoked there's no telling how long he could live.......lol

it's all in the politically correct BS. The same people bitching about tobacco smoke cheerfully inhale diesel smoke which is ten times more carcinogenic.

just tell the bitchers to go masterbate and they will feel better

I agree whole-heartedly with you.

I am a smoker that has quit two years ago. when I am around people that don't smoke chastising someone else, it is very difficult for me to keep my mouth shut.

When I was approached with the same question, "why don't you quit smoking", I say "well, thank you for your concern about my health, but when I am ready to, I will quit."

I would be a hyprocrite to tell someone to quit having sex, because I do that, too.

This entire rational is so stupid. I cared for an emphysema patient. Watching her gasp for a breath and regret every cigarette she smoked. Smokers, it's later than you think.
