There are really only two decent tool bars around, Yahoo and Google, and even those are open to debate.

Although you can have more than one, there are a few reasons why you should only use one:

1) Each toolbar you run will use up a small percent of your system resources. If you have an older or slow machine to begin with, then you will take a performance hit for each one you install.

2) Many toolbars do the same thing - fill out forms, remember passwords, block pop-ups, etc. the more you run, the more chance you have of one conflicting with the other. This can also add to a performance hit.

3) As others have posted, there are a ton of tool bars out there that are gateways for spyware. Two of the worst are the Viewpoint and Mirar Toolbars.

So basically, if you are going to use one, stick with the one you like.

If you can deal with the lowered screen space, there's really no limit to the number of toolbars you can have. Bare in mind that the more toolbars you have the more system resources you'll be using. However small the amounts may seem, they'll all add up, meaning it takes longer for your browser to load, and in extreme cases can cause slow-down. If you find that adding a toolbar causes a program to crash, then remove the toolbar and see if the problem continues. Also take into account that some third-party programs can be a backdoor for spy/adware and the like.

You may not be using it yet, but I highly recommend switching to Firefox ( http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ ), since it's much more stable than Internet Explorer and has added compatibility for various additional browser features you may choose to use.

you can have as many as you like however what's the point as you will run out screen space eventually. pick one or two that you really like and stick with them. For me I use the web developer extension for firefox as well as the google toolbar. they are all I need.

I think less is better.
Why do you need more than one?

The more stuff running on your computer, the slower it becomes!
