It's a fact that we are first attracted to someone by their appearance. It speaks of our confidence, security, who we are, and how we feel about ourselves. Try an experiment. Sit in a well traveled area and watch the people go by. Notice the ones you pay particular attention to ----
Think how you feel when you take the time to work on your appearance and how it makes you feel - more confident, more social, even more friendly.

Hmm good question,well appearance only matters to people who care about public opinions and thoughts.It only matters to those kind of people...
Example: Freaks and Geeks are ignorant about public opinions that's why they dint care about what they look like and just go on...Where as models and celebrities do care that's why they direct so much of attention towards it.

Appearance matters because it the definition of who we are and what we think of ourselves.........albeit not all the time......but most of the time we define ourself by what we wear...............ie.....you are what you wear, you are what you eat, you are by the friends you choose...........etc.
Our appearance tells the world, for the most part of our confindence in ourselves or sometimes the lack of it.

A lot of it is the media. They've brainwashed most of us to believe that we will be total losers if we don't look great and have great-looking significant others.
