No earlier than 4 months you can give your baby "stage 1" baby food. Start off with one jar of one kind of fruit and/or vegetable at a time to see if your baby has any allergies. I recommend Gerber organic or Earth's best. Organic baby food costs the same and there are no additives so why not. Then you can give your baby when she wakes up a six ounce bottle. Then a couple of hours later feed her some baby stage 1 oatmeal along with 1 jar of baby food and a 4 oz. bottle of formula. Your baby will start showing signs of either being full or still hungry.

cutting-edge concepts from ALL reliable source (the yank Academy of Pediatrics, international health employer, UNICEF, etc.) recommend waiting till round 6 months to initiate solids. No reliable source recommends 3 months. Early solids are correlated with a great determination of health disadvantages, and performance no reward. Occassionally someone toddler may be waiting slightly quicker -- 4-5 months, and some little ones are not waiting or in contact till later -- 7-9 months or more desirable. some moms make certain to attend unitl toddler is in a position to self-feed table meals -- oftentimes 7-10 months or so. (little ones oftentimes do not want solids from a dietary POV till round a 365 days, so there is not any harm in waiting.) i began at 5 a million/2 months. My daughter is now a youngster, or perhaps as she replaced right into a toddler the commonly used suggestion replaced into '4-6 months' truly than the 'round 6 months' that has been cautioned for the previous 10-12 years.

It's advisable to wait until 6 mos. 4 mos is kind of the old school answer. Many people start with rice cereal and add it to breast milk or formula. You can also start with high iron veggies like sweet potatoes. Cereal has very little nutrition and LOTS of iron so it can constipate easily, many people skip it for this reason. Introduce one new food every 4 or 5 days to make sure there's no allergic reaction. Berries shouldn't be introduced until much later. Good foods to start with are sweet potatoes, sweet peas, green beans, avadado. The longer you put off solids/baby food the less likely there will be an allergic reaction.

My daughter was a big eater. She ate every hour, on the hour, since the day she was born. Finally at three months, I asked the doctor what to do. First, he told me to add a little baby cereal into her bottle. That worked for a while, and then she still continued crying every hour for food. He told me to start her on baby food.
So I think it really just depends on what your baby's individual needs are. Just make sure you talk it over with your doctor at your next check-up. Every kid is different. Don't sweat it. It's a good thing that she has a good appetite.
Good luck!
