You can download the Express edition free from Microsoft - te professional edition is a trial with a time limit. Follow the link I've given you and pick your download. I downloaded the web design one. I'm still evaluating it - but it seems there are a few express programs - even Visual basic that I'm told is the easiest yet. Microsoft were putting spyware on your computer WGA to make sure your XP was genuine - but they didn't try that this time. My XP is genuine - new laptop - but that is not the point. There is a limit to this spying crap. On my desktop - they said it wasn't genuine and messed about with WGA popups I had to get rid off. Search for visual studio express edition. It is a free download. Alternatively if you just need a good c++ dev. environment check out devc++

Try looking for it on torrent sites. TorrentSpy.com ISOhunt.com and thepiratebay.org
I have been trying to look for the first cd. Havent looked just yet but check those out. If you find one use BitLord as the torrent program.
