Bring your bills for the last 6 months. This should prove residency. Also, a paycheck stub listing your home address as the hotel w/ room number will add support to the claim.

Normally, if you are trying to get an ID card, you only have to show that you receive mail at that address. Mail yourself a letter to the motel. Don't put the room number, just your name at the main address. Tell the receptionist desk what you are doing, so you'll be sure to receive the letter. Also, be there in the office next day or two days at the most to pickup your mail. Get the idea?

I really believe most of the homeless are not homeless!! Why? They get a S.S.I or Social Security check, if you don't have an address you can't get a check! You think these people don't have a home? just check the street right after payday, you don't see them on the street, or if you see them they all wired up!!

Hotels have addresses. Your receipt for "rent' should be sufficient.
