The rules of the animal kingdom are often ruthless and immoral, with survival of the fittest being the basic grounds for life in the animal kingdom.
No matter what religion you belong to is it possible that we have all be duped by Satan or whatever his equivalent may be?
We are taught to be kind to each other not to steal and so on. But in the animal world it is take what you can and kill what you can. The old & young are both victims to this rule.
What if god’s and Satan’s roles (or whatever your religious equivalent) are opposite to common believe and the main goal in life is to survive at all or any cost. So god would in fact be Satan and Satan would be god?
At the end of the day animals have been around longer that humans and will probably out live us as a result of there way of life. Life as we know it is proof that our current system doesn’t work as there is still pain an suffering. Where if it was dog eat dog the poor & weak would simply be fuel to powerful.

Before you go calling me in humane I wouldn’t be alive if it was survival of the fittest as I am of very poor health and wouldn’t have survived birth. My burden on society Is no different to rest of the weak and poor.

thank you for asking this question! now i don't feel crazy as i've actually thought about this.

i think that somewhere in the bible, god says something like"there is no other god but me" and that if another diety(or someone else) proclaims that (s)he him/herself is god, then that diety is tricking us and cannnot truly be the real god.

i've never heard of satan saying that he is god.....
the only one i've heard about claiming to be god is "god"....so who is tricking us there?

shouldn't we inherently know who is god? does god really have to tell us he is god?

furthermore, satan is not about "evil" per se, satan is about enjoying the fruits of this life here and now and not being manipulated by another diety to do his bidding so we can be rewarded in the next life. how do we really know there is a next life? how do we know we're not being duped?

we have bloody wars and terrible disagreements over religion and who's values are better than who's. that in itself should be a clue to the answer to your question......
i don't believe any kind, loving god would sit back and watch such atrocities happen in his name.

i agree. animals have been doing a great job of sustaining themselves and their environment for 1000's of years before we came along and evovled to destory it.

Interesting question. But I think evolution is about leaving behind things that are destructive, and developing traits that enable survival - preferably to the individual, imperative for the species. And, as you said, humans are later products of the evolution than animals; and we differ from them, notably, by our capacity for compassion. Hens, or cougars, do not show compassion at any species, including their own. That's why think goodness is not in the survival of the fittest, not in the jungle ways, at least.

I mean, as you say, people would die at birth, or later, if other people were not compassionate enough to find a way to help them - even though the baby they help today may turn out to be a competitor in 20 years.

(ADD) Re englishelectirc: HAS the human race succeeded? I think that is yet to be determined. We are struggling pretty hard, that's true, but everyone is pushing in a different direction...

Interesting question, not sure any answer is 100% right but I don't think I would like a world that just discarded people for the crime of being young or old. I think it shows an advance intelligent that we care. After all we are at the top of the food chain, we control animals not always well but all animals are in some way reliant on us, habitat, deforestation etc.

So perhaps the animal kingdom doesn't have the solution !

Humans have a more sophisticated way of weeding out the weak. This process does exist but it tends to be downplayed and comes in the form of social distinctions. What is considered strength in humanity is education, common sense and tenacity.

As for these deities you mentioned, one being the opposite of the other is far too simple an example. There are so many shades of gray when it comes to "good" and "evil." One action done for a good cause could very well have an opposite effect and reaction in reality.

I believe in god, believe the evil like Satan is human error and I really thought that people were just the same as animals when it came to looking after themselves, the way I see society at the moment the human form too is taking what it can and killing for for what they believe is their own survival, animals will always be able to look after themselves, its their instinct, but humans are becoming the same but in the wrong way.

the rules of society are the key factor as to why the human race has suceeded. If only the fittest survived then intelegence would have no part in the development of the human race and thus we would simply be part of the animal kingdom.

You have way too much time on your hands ! While we do exhibit many of the characteristics of "animals", there are many inherant human attributes that distinguish us from most of them. What would the world be like if we limited ourselves to "basic survival" behavior because God is wrong and Satan is right? First of all, among thousands of other things, you wouldn't be on this web site posing such a possibility. There would be no advancement of human-kind at all. Relax, my friend, we got it right , or at the very least, we're on the right track.

we still act like animals we only pretend that we are kind. the financial ways of our life have a way of eliminating the weak. just because we don't physically kill the poor and weak does not mean that we don't.

But this is how we differentiate ourselves from the animals, with our capacity for kindness and consideration.

We don;t always succeed, but we're trying
