It would be easier to make sure your eating healthy. Take a prenatal vitamin everyday too make sure your body has enough Folic Acid and other important nutrients and vitamins.
Avoid alcohol, smoking and drugs.
Once your pregnant, keep taking those prenatals. And then start keeping a closer eye on which foods to avoid. For example, foods with a high mercury content (such as some types of fish). There are some cheses to stay away from because of the way they are processed. Stuff like that. When you get pregnant your doctor will go over some of these with you (and if not, just ask!). Limit your caffeine intake. You don't have to cut it out completely, but keep it to a minimum.
You also find there are foods that you can not stand the sight or smell of when your pregnant. Foods that you much enjoy right now. That can be kind of depressing, but it 's just temporary.
You can look it up on the internet if you're that concerned, or call your doctor and he/she will give you some good advice on how to get started!
Good Luck!

*** This isn't medical fact *** but could be of interest! In medieval times, juniper berries were eaten to cause abortions, so I'd avoid eating them in excess! They also believed back then that pomegranites were fertility promoters. So ditch the juniper (or gin!) and get on the pomegranites! GOOD LUCK!!!
