As far as theme parks go, it's all to do with which rides they go on. Under 12, and you'll be going on all the little kiddie rides. Over 12 and you'll be going on many of the big rides. If a 25 year old has to pay £30 to go on those rides, why shouldn't a 13 year old?

Basically: children under 12 get a discounted price because they're not going on the real rides which make the theme park money. 12 year olds don't get the discount.

They will charge what people will pay. A 12 year-old uses the same rides as an adult, hence the pricing.

That doesn't seem like an issue worthy of legislation to me. In a capitalist society, they can charge what they want for non-essential services, and you can choose whether you want to pay it or not. If enough people say "no" to their costs, they go out of business. That's how it works. Let the legislators deal with issues that really matter....like immigration, health care, national security....You can vote against theme parks with your dollars, or you can decide that it's so much fun that it's worth the splurge on ocassion.

Hey...it's a business. They gotta pay their bills. You can either not go, or start your own theme park and charge no admission.

Life is full of choices and options.

because the corporate world is greedy at large and the politicians don't care because they are cash cows tax wise for the area where they are located. It's becoming so people with a limited income can't enjoy these places.
