And I'm not just talking about the strange people who are so socially inpet that they may as well be from another planet! Pete Doherty for example....

Anyway - what I'm really after is people who genuinely believe that they've seen evidence that there is life on other planets - either through alien abduction or UFO sightings. If so, where abouts did you have the experience? How did it make you feel? Were you scared, excited, couldn't believe your eyes?! And does anyone believe you?!

my mum saw one once. She and my dad were walking home one evening and my dad looked up and said what the foot is that my mum looked up and and told us that is was (in her words) "a big round thing with differnt colours on it and it was coming down." she said that they ran the rest of the way home then once inside she was that scared that out of panic she ran into all of our bedrooms to close all of our curtains. Now this was in the seventies and no she did not take any drugs

No - but I'm sure that they exist
The nearest I got were hallucinations in hospital when given an unsuitable sleeping draught. Things crawled through the moving walls - I woke up holding a television over my head!
Scary!!!

Extraterrestrial life is life that may exist and originate outside the planet Earth, the only place in the universe known to support life. Its existence is currently hypothetical; there is as yet no evidence of extraterrestrial life that has been widely accepted by scientists.

Most scientists hold that if extraterrestrial life exists, its evolution would have occurred independently in different places in the universe. An alternative hypothesis, held by a minority, is panspermia, which suggests that life in the universe could have stemmed from a smaller number of points of origin, and then spread across the universe, from habitable planet to habitable planet. These two hypotheses are not mutually exclusive.

Speculative forms of extraterrestrial life range from humanoid and monstrous beings seen in works of science fiction to life at the much smaller scale of bacteria.

Extraterrestrial life forms, especially intelligent ones, are often referred to in popular culture as aliens or ETs. The putative study and theorisation of ET life is known as astrobiology or xenobiology.

Given the vastness of the universe and the almost countless number of stars similar to our own, many of which will be orbited by planets capable to supporting life as we know it (to use a Trekism), it is extremely likely that there are aliens.

The nearest star suspected to have a planetary system is Barnard's Star, about 6 light years away, but it a small, cold star compared to ours so any planets it may have are unlikely to be able to support life (as we know it). Even if there were life there it would take about 25,000 years to travel the distance (at the speeds current NASA craft can reach), so it seems unlikely that they have visited us.

So I very much doubt that anyone has seen an alien.
