I am totally disgusted by the comments she as made about Steve Irwins death!! She is a self centered ***** and i think she should make a public appology to the family!! I also think she is a disgusting excuse for a human being. What do you think???

steve irwin was a risktaker and it is not unsusal for many serious intellectuals to view his style and approach in a very negative manner..........
i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

She is a disgusting excuse for a human being and she deserves to be punched in the ovaries.
That stupid feminist has NO RIGHT to talk about a man that genuinely loved animals and respected them as much as he did. Her remarks were ignorant and out of line, and he respected animals and loved them more than that ugly dike ever will ever respect or love anything. To make fun of Steve Irwin is a desperate cry for attention, and I regret having written as much as I have concerning her and having given her exactly what she wants.

I agree. I sent a copy of her comments in the Guardian to friend from France and my sister in Phoenix. In the Subject field "An angry (old) feminist". What about the comment about wearing "shorts seven sizes too small"? She sure has checked out the details about this guy she claims is such a jerk. She must have a big butt!!
I feel an apology to the family is definitely needed. though they probably wouldn't accept it. I wouldn't. And I wouldn't give her the satisfaction of acknowledging her comments or an apology if it came.
I'm glad someone else got the same feeling from this spiteful statement. What a witch.

Germaine Greer speaks the truth. Irwin was a talentless idiot whose moronic buffonery, dashing around the bush, taunting and teasing the schit out of wild animals and yelling 'Crikey!' at every lame opportunity, did nothing but strengthen the world's view of the stereotypical 'Brain Dead Ozzie'. He was an embarrassment.

To be sensitive about another person's rather accurate observations indicates that you are young, and not very evolved in your thinking, that you still need something to adore and worship without question.
This kind of unquestioning following and loyalty is one reason mankind as a whole is a bunch of sheep.
I have a small child, and for that reason did not vocally criticize the actions of her hero in front of her, but by the time she is twelve or so, I should hope she will be able to discuss such matters intelligently, integrating all viewpoints.

i read the article expecting some unfair comments.
what she said was absolutely fair and accurate.
to get killed by a stingray implies that you are being very careless.
steve was killed by hubris.
