I was overweight when I was pregnant and I was worried too.

One thing to be concerned about it gestational diabetes, which I believe they test you for during your pregnancy (they have you drink a sweet, soda like drink). http://everydayhealth.com/publicsite/index.aspx?puid=a7736d9f-13c8-4fbf-957e-826f0e65179a

I wouldn't worry about it being fatal to you or your baby. Millions of overweight women give birth everyday. Just make sure you're eating right for you and your baby and take the pills prescribed by your doctor. Good Luck

You were overweight before you got pregnant? If that is the case, just try to eat healthy so as not to gain too much more weight while pregnant. Don't go on a diet. Just eat well. You can also take walks. They just don't want people to start new exercises while pregnant. Oh and they have pre natal yoga which helps loosen the muscles you will use for delivery. As for it being fatal, anyone could die in childbirth. doesn't matter what size you are.

You know, it's hard not to gain too much weight while your pregnant. Weight gain varies from person to person. Some only gain minimal amounts say like 10 lbs others are in the preferred range of 20-35 lbs while many others gain much more than that. I myself gained 50lbs with each of my pregnancies and my deliveries were fine. My babies were fine. And I was overweight to begin with.

You can excersize during pregnancy if that would make you feel better, but try not to overdo it. Keep yourself hydrated and at the hint of getting tired, stop. If excersize in pregnancy is overdone, then you run the risk of hurting your baby and yourself.

On the medical side of it, if at any time during your pregnancy you and the doctors notice your gaining a significant amount of weight each week (significant meaning like 5 lbs a week) then yes, there might be a medical issue like pre-eclampsia or toxemia. Signs of those are highblood pressure, swelling, and numbness in extremeties, blurred vision with possible floaties in the line of vision. If you have any of these symptoms, then calling your OB right away is necessary!! You're OB will also know if something is amiss at your next visit if there's protein in your urine and your blood pressure is high...so don't think things like that will go unnoticed by your OB. They are trained to find things like that whether you notice symptoms or not!

If you're still concerned about your weight gain, dont be afraid to talk to your OB. That's what they are there for. They can go over some excersize plans and give you some really great advice and much needed encouragement for times like these!!

Oh! And I wouldn't worry about dieting right now. If you try dieting while your pregnant you could lose out on some nutrition that you and your baby need right now. So save the dieting for post-partum!

Chin up! And Good Luck!!

increased risk of miscarriage, blood pressure problems, and pregnancy-related diabetes, as well as an increased possibility of a cesarean (C-) section delivery. An obese mother also increases her risk for delivering an overweight baby; a baby whose birth weight is at least 10 lb is considered overweight. Other dangers include an increased risk of stillbirth, prematurity, neural tube defects, and higher rates of childhood obesity.Women considered to be overweight (not obese) also face an increased risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, and C-section if they gain too much weight before getting pregnant. Women can expect to gain 25 to 35 lb during pregnancy if they are at a normal weight, 15 to 25 lb if they are overweight, and 15 lb if they are obese. Although dieting during pregnancy is not recommended, doctors encourage lifestyle changes, portion control, and food diaries. Oviously u cant do heavy excerise but you could maybe join up to a gym and use walking machine thingy, a lady at my gym used that til the day before she gave birth. gentle excerise is always good during pregnancy whether ur overweight or not,

Overweight during pregnancy is a sign of toxemia. You may have to stay on a very strict diet while pg. Try not to gain much weight because it will make the delivery hard on both you and the baby. Talk to your Dr. about your concerns.

My doctor told me that the heavier you are, the harder it will be for you to deliver your baby and to loose the weight after you give birth. What you can do now is to not gain any more weight, just whatever the necessary is for your baby. I would not stress over it, just watch you food intake and you will be fine. The best exercise you can do when overweighted is walking, find a near mall and go there for walks or go out for walks early in the morning or in the evening, walking after meals is a good thing so, you do have options.

a friend of mine gave birth to a healthy baby boy 2 months ago. She is over 20 stn. Admittedly her pregnancy was a nightmare, with backaches and sickness all the way through, but she and the baby were fine in the end.

good luck

obese adult males are actually not rewarded--they have extreme ldl cholesterol and finally end up diabetic and debilitated of their 40's. you're making an severe blunders in good judgment. you're mistaking a correlation for reason and result, it is hardship-loose between sloppy "social" technology varieties. working in the corporate worldwide is fairly time ingesting--they basically assume you to coach all the life over to regardless of shallow, materialistic hobbies are needed with the intention to push up earnings and inventory costs. the adult males who do properly in our financial gadget usually have not any life. they don't have time for well being and proper weight loss plan and tend to loosen up with drinks and unsafe nutrition. i will see this needless to say between my friends. I, on the different hand, am greater or much less a expert failure, yet i'm nevertheless a aggressive athlete at 40 and have the physique to coach it. i could no longer try this if I donated my entire life to coping with some bull **** company place of work. I do think of that skinny ladies tend to be taken care of better in our society and that obese adult males are actually not as discriminated against as obese ladies. yet all obese human beings pay a cost it is larger than financial whilst their well being starts off to circulate to pot in develop.
