Labour are putting themselves through hoops for nothing. At the next General Election they will be out of office. Not because the Tories will win, but because Labour will lose.

Give the man his due. He has stopped the conflict in Northern Ireland, got inflation down to a tolerable level and got unemployment down to pre Thatcher levels. However he comes across as a phoney, all due to his body language and speech patterns and has an indecipherable political philosiphy known as "The Third Way" He has made a very great mistake in cosying up to George Bush and parroting his warmongering idiocies, this does look a great deal like brown nosing of a superior. But he did stop the US bombing the Al-Jazeera offices in Quatar which would have been a war crime. "Not like all the others then" Maggie Thatcher destroyed more of the British way of life than he has, although the heath service suffers very badly from inadequate and idiotic management.
An anagram of "Tony Blair MP" is "I am Tory plan B"
So now you know.

What legacy? I don't think he has left us any. There is a real problem emerging in our political system. The Labour Party seem to be in 'self destruct' mode, which seems to happen to parties that have been in power for too long (remember John Major being stabbed in the back by 'the bastards' and stories of Tory sleaze?) Voters will not endorse a party that seems to be fighting with itself to govern them, so in that respect you may well be right. Labour could lose the Election rather than the Tories winning it. But the Tories win? I can't see that bunch of non entities managing that. And if they did what sort of wishy washy twist in the wind politics would they usher in? They are so busy U turning they must be perpetually dizzy. (which could explain a lot, thinking about it!) So that leaves us with the Lib Dems. Well quite. Yet another political party with the amazing ability to appear as if they just might be getting somewhere only to look at their feet and decide it was time they shot them off. Drunkenness, rent boy sex scandals you name it. Someone in the LibDems seems to have tried it. Menzies Campbell has not provided the party with the gravitas and leadership that was his promise. So who can we turn to? The Labour Party, going through Blairite death throes and political in fighting? The inept Old Etonians pretending to be at one with the people or a bunch of well meaning do gooders whose policies carry as much weight a a limp lettuce sandwich and can't seem to be able to punch their way out of a paper bag? We are being faced with Hobson's Choice. If you remember that correctly Ladies and Gentlemen, Hobson's choice was no choice at all.

I think with all the damage he's done to this country, it'll be a long, long, LONG time before we can forget.
There's a reason why Labour were out for 18 years. Tony's the reason they'll be out for a good while again I should think.

Governments nearly always loose elections, the opposition parties usually don't win them.

When the electorate are fed up with the government they give them the boot at the next general election. Tony Blair will leave Britain in a stronger state than it was when he became Prime Minister.
