I'm now 20 weeks gone and i'm feeling great. Between weeks 4 and 15 i felt really tired... no matter what I did, how i sat, or how ever much sleep i got. Don't worry about this - it will pass. If worried, your doctor will be able to ensure nothing else is wrong.

I did experience breathlessness very early on in my pregnancy - so early that it was clearly not related to gaining weight.
I'm generally a relative sporty person and didn't use to feel easily out of breath prior to being pregnant, which made it even more puzzling.
Very shortly after falling pregnant I experienced 2 things: firstly an incredible urge to sleep (who hasn't :) ) and secondly, an unusual feeling of breathlessness when climbing up the stairs etc. It never was to the point of discomfort, but it was certainly noticeable.
I found this site which describes some of the reasons why this may happen (http://www.marchofdimes.com/pnhec/159_16046.asp) -- extract of which below:
"Early in pregnancy, increased levels of the hormone progesterone cause you to breathe more often. This can look and feel like shortness of breath. This hormone expands your lung capacity, allowing your blood to carry large quantities of oxygen to your baby."

I did at around 9 weeks as well. I would be laying in bed about to go asleep and then get short of breath, or sometimes I felt like I just needed to breathe more deeply. Its probably caused by the hormones and your lungs adjusting to the pregnancy. I would mention it to your doctor anyway at your next appointment, but mine told me its normal. I'm now 16 weeks pregnant and the baby has been fine. If it happens to you so much that you are constantly uncomfortable, I'd contact your doc right away.

I have not experienced short of breath in early pregnancy. I have experienced it when I was 8 month pregnancy while I was sitting down. The short of breath often related to palpitation. It could be happened in early pregnancy because of hormone change. If it happens very often or your pulse is over 100 beats per minute, you need to see your Dr.

I personally have not. If you are carrying twins symptoms could start showing up way earlier and that could be a sign. Or something can be wrong. I'd suggest speaking with your doctor about it. Also a great book to read regarding pregnancy is "what to expect when your expecting" good luck

Definitely see the Dr. It could be anything. Pregnancy increases your chance of having a deep vein thrombosis and that can cause breathlessness.

Might not be due to pregnancy, it could be asthma (you can develop it anytime during your life). Go see your doctor who'll do a peak flow test (essentially how much puff you have) and go from there. But don't wait long before doing so.
