cell phone companies today.. are promoting to many handset with cameras. how much does one use?

I use the camera on my cell phone several times a day...

every day...

but then, I have software and a cable to hook up my cell phone directly to my computer and transfer the pictures to my computer without the hastle of "forwarding" them to my email address.

Well ... cell phones cameras do not take photos which are comparable to the digital cameras. However the mobile phone market is moving to the direction of providing professional camera sensors on the phone. I am a software engineer working for a cell phone company and beleive me that the camera on the mobile phone is becomming better and better day by day. I would say that within 6 months you would see a lot of camera phones with very competent camera sensors on the mobile. Please wait if you plan to by a digital camera. You would get a camera+phone+nuemerous of other features in one device for almost the same cost.

The camera's on a cell phone are a fun feature but if I want to take a quality picture I use my digital camera. The other thing is you can't take a phone/camera everywhere. For example some government buildings won't let you bring it, some museums, etc.

Cell phone is been positioned as a product to cater all communication need be it voice call, email, text mesg, photos or music (entertainment). Camera is one of the attractive feature to promote by giving its resolution etc. users will not buy if you talk about sound effect or numbers that can be stored in phone book cause visual effect is stronger than sound effect.

cell phone company are promoting too many handsts,because they know that the purchasing power of the people has increased,they have enough disposable income to throw,moreover new mobile phone now become a trend setter.
