it is really a shame that the world lost someone like steve irwin. he was a great example for all of us. making sure that the survival of the environment means the survival of mankind.
i used to watch this guy everytime in animal planet he was such an inspiration for all of us. but accidents do happen, im just deeply sadened for his family. i also hope that his wife will recover and his children will always remember one of the greatest person that ever live... there dad an animal lover.

there is no better way of saying that their love one has just died, its being with the person that received the bad news we should comfort. i will always remeber irwin with his wife and children smiling and helping animals as i always seen on tv. god bless him and his family

I think you could be right. Teri should've been called by John Stainton on the phone to interrupt her hiking trip, and told her about the stingray incident that killed Steve, instead of watching the news. That's no way to relay bad news to her. They should've wait to tell her, instead she arrived back to Australia, to release the information about his death.

That's not true. She was notified before the media was and she was still on her hiking trip. She cut it short to come home with their 2 children.

I think that in a perfect situation it would have been great to wait but you have to remember that people who heard it and were their were going to call and tell everyone that they knew.
I do feel very bad for his wife. They knew that they couldn't keep something like this under their hat for more then a few hours.

I am certain that she was notified before the media. It isn't like they were estranged.
