I had asked this question before and didnt find a solution, I have real player and windows media player, RP is my default player ,but sometimes I want to use media player and I cant do this because RP starts playing the file on its own , answerers in this section told me to right click on the file and choose (play with) ,but when I do so I dont see the words play with, I only see open or open a new window, and real player plays the file, any further suggestions would be appreciated. As for real player too, when I want to listen to a certain song I get two options , listen or download the song ,so does download means that the song is saved on my hard disk and I can listen to it any time, but when I download songs I cant find them even when I explore my hard disk or in real player so where would downloaded songs be kept ?

There are a few ways to deal with this. The first is the way you described. Second you can open your media players and go to the options/preferences screen>select file types/associations and select the types of files you want each player to play. Take the check out of the "Check to see if player is default player" or "Reclaim file types..etc". This will prevent the players from taking control again. The final is to simply open the player of your choice and browse to the file you want to open and play it that way. Hope this helps.

Personally, I hate the way RealPlayer takes over your PC and makes itself the default when you access any type of media file. I fixed this problem by uninstalling and then finding and deleting any and all remaining files, and registry entries that mention or reference RealPlayer.
Remember it's a free program and commercially oriented so it will ALWAYS make itself the default.
My recommendation is to use the latest version 11, Media Player from Microsoft.
Be aware though, if you use v11 it is a bit of a CPU hog. So if you have an older PC it may limit what you can do. e.g. play a song and browse the internet at the same time.
