I shouldn't have separated the question with the "-" between question and problem....actual problem is : 2(3x-1)=5-(x+3)

- 2(3x - 1) = 5 -(x + 3)

- 6x + 2 = 5 -x - 3

The distributive property on the left side and removing the parenthesis on the right side of the equation.

- 6x + 2 + x = 5 - x - 3 + x

Adding + x to both sides of the equation

-5x + 2 = 2

- 5x + 2 - 2 = 2 - 2

subtracting - 2 from both sides of the equation

-5x = 0

-5x/-5 = 0/-5

Dividing both sides of the equation by - 5

x = 0

-2(3x - 1) = 5 -(x + 3)
-6x + 2 = 5 - x - 3
-6x + 2 = 2 - x (Add x to both sides and subtract two from both sides)
-5x = 0 (Divide both sides by -5)
x = 0

Check:
-2 (3(0) - 1) = 5 - (0 + 3)
-2 (-1) = 5 - 3
2 = 2
