Which teams are likely to use the running back-by-committee approach instead of a feature back? In other words, which teams' backs should I avoid drafting? And then, which teams' RBs should I be looking to draft?

Thank you for your answer and have a wonderful day! :)

Excellent question, Moon, and just in the nick of time as the NFL season kicks off tonight! Several teams don't have a true feature back and may use as many as three RBs all season long. The Jets come immediately to mind because they've lost Curtis Martin to a (likely) career-ending injury. They'll have to go with Kevan Barlow, Derrick Blaylock and Cedric Houston. Tennessee is another team with three backs likely to carry the load (Chris Brown, LenDale White and Travis Henry). Denver, who usually go with this approach, will use Mike Bell and Tatum Bell but they cut Ron Dayne, so that committee may only be two. Dayne ended up in Houston and, as the Texans lost Domanick Davis for the year, he'll platoon with Antowain Smith, Vernand Morency and rookie Wali Lundy. Stay away from the Texans RBs!

Other teams to watch out for include: Indianapolis, who can't decide between Dominic Rhodes and rookie Joseph Addai to replace the departed Edgerrin James... Chicago, who look to be splitting the carries between Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson... Dallas, who are likely to use Marion Barber III almost as often as Julius Jones (especially close to the goal line, which is when you really get your fantasy points)... Baltimore, who will frequently spell Jamal Lewis with Mike Anderson and Musa Smith... Minnesota, who love to go with running back-by-committee, have Mewelde Moore and Ciatrick Fason to go along with Chester Taylor... Washington, who may rely on T.J. Duckett if Clinton Portis's shoulder doesn't heal or requires surgery (as I expect)... Green Bay, who will likely use Samkon Gado at least as much as the fading and injury-prone Ahman Green... New Orleans, who will definitely platoon rookie Reggie Bush with veteran Deuce McAllister... The same applies in New England, where rookie Laurence Maroney will challenge the aging (and slowing) Corey Dillon... Carolina, who will likely use rookie DeAngelo Williams almost as much as DeShaun Foster, especially if/when Foster goes down with an injury... And Philadelphia, which also tends to use several backs, will need to spell Brian Westbrook with Ryan Moats and Correll Buckhalter (assuming he can stay healthy).

Okay, so who are the teams that you can expect to rely heavily on their feature backs (assuming they stay healthy)? Here we go... The Buffalo Bills will live and die by the fortunes or misfortunes of Willis McGahee... Kansas City has the quintessential feature back in Larry Johnson... San Diego has the same in LaDainian Tomlinson... And Seattle relies heavily on Shaun Alexander... Tiki Barber is the man for the Giants... Miami will go with Ronnie Brown almost exclusively with Ricky Williams gone (again)... Rudi Johnson carries the load for Cincinnati... Steven Jackson will do the job for St. Louis (though they did just sign Stephen Davis)... LaMont Jordan is the key to Oakland's rushing attack... The aforementioned Edgerrin James will (finally) try to give Arizona a solid ground game... Carnell "Cadillac" Williams is the feature back in Tampa Bay... Willie Parker is now the undisputed #1 back in Pittsburgh and will even get the red zone carries "The Bus" (the retired Jerome Bettis) used to get... With Duckett traded to the Redskins, Warrick Dunn should get a lot of touches in Atlanta... Assuming he can stay healthy, Fred Taylor is critical to Jacksonville's ground game... Reuben Droughns is now top dog in Cleveland... Kevin Jones is the go-to guy in Detroit... And Frank Gore is the man in San Francisco now that Barlow has been moved.

Okay, that actually covers every team in the NFL (sorry, got a bit carried away there, lol). I do hope this information helps, as I've had quite a lot of experience with Fantasy Football over the years. I really think you'll enjoy it, especially the draft, because it's a lot of fun. Best of luck with your Fantasy Football draft and season, my friend! :)

I've been playing fantasy football for quite a while now and, in my experience, the best way to draft a well rounded team that should compete every year is this.......... RB, WR, QB in the first 3 rounds in no particular order. Then WR, RB, TE in the next 3, also in no particular order. What position you draft in each round depends greatly on what pick you have and what the people ahead of you do. Flexibility is key. Don't ever assume you have to draft certain positions in a certain round. Let's say you have the 5th pick. There's a great chance that 3-4 RBs will be taken. You may want to consider the top QB or you may stick with a RB. If you're at the end of the round, maybe you go WR. The important thing is to use your cheat sheet (your ranked list of players)and make sure you're picking value every time. Anyway, if you land a top 3-4 QB, one top 5-6 RB, a top 1-3 TE, and then fill out your WR and RB spots with the best players available, you'll find you like the looks of your team when the first 6 rounds are done. If that was too involved, pick RB, QB, WR, TE, RB, WR in that order. Even if you completely disregard everything else I suggested, you should still have a pretty decent team. Good luck.

Denver is the worse. The coach doesn't let a RB get into a rhythm. Expect to see it also from Indy and New Orleans. I would also suspect that Chicago and possibly Carolina by mid season if Foster isn't knocked out completely.

RB by committee:
Jets, Houston, Tennessee, Denver, Dallas and New Orleans

There are several others with talented backups waiting in the wings, which you can pick up for depth:
New England (Morency), Baltimore (Anderson), Indianapolis (Addai), Jacksonville (Toefield), NY Giants (Jacobs), Chicago (Benson) and Carolina (D. Williams)

Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, New England, and Tennessee look like RB by committee.

Edge, LT, Alexander, LJ, Tiki, Foster....all look good.

I even like Reuben. Cleveland will run alot this year.
