Firstly- don't try and gain the weight by eating heaps of processed, fatty junk food- it will make you feel both physically AND emotionally miserable-- studies have shown that diets high in those fats and highly processed are linked to depression.

Try to increase your protein levels- chickpeas and red meats are good for this. Consume things like bread and rice- they should help you to bulk up a little too.

Also, protein bars and shakes are good for gaining weight- they have a good fat content and are packed with lots of vitamins and minerals to keep you healthy at the same time-- much better to munch on a protein bar and gain healthy weight than chow down on a Mars bar and be unhealthy.

Increasing high-fat foods in your diet is totally okay in moderation and it WILL help you to gain weight-- make your that your diet is balanced, but you would still be okay to eat take-out foods like pizza (you could make it at home even), hot chips (french fries... whatever!), dohnuts, etc. once or twice a week... but again, don't go overkill on this- it's not good for your system.

Overlook your exercise program and see if any changes need to be made to make it so that, rather than burning fat, you're gaining muscle.
