Why can I send an IM but I can't see a response in the message box.?

When receiving an IM the box does pop up empty. I have verified my scripy settings and I have even un-installed and the re-installed messanger.

Hey, that actually happened to me this week. I was puzzled by what to do. Eventually,after giving up, I went and formatted the hard drive and then re-installed Yahoo! Messenger. Then it went back to normal. I advice you to format your hard drive. Transfer some important files you want to keep and go to a computer place and format it. Then it'll go back to normal.
Hope this'll work out for you. Take my advice and go format.
