So, when Blair is finally prised from his post, what will be his 'legacy' that he is so intent on leaving us as a nation?

That he managed to finish what Margret Thatcher started:
The discrediting and destruction of the labour movement as a political force, and that he led you into a war that will impact on Britains relationship with its neighbours(i.e. they won't trust the UK not to sell them to the US at the drop of a hat) for a long time, let alone the Muslim states.

Blair will leave us a nation without an agenda, other than to follow the US, like some pitiful, bowed poodle. He's created a government of pledges and promises, against a reality of weakness and incompetence.

Tony Blair is one of the finest actors I've seen. The tragedy for the British people is that he went into politics and not RADA.

A man so talented as to get the British public to re-elect him twice despite being exposed as a liar.

Despite overseeing the crumbling of the NHS.

Despite taking the country into an illegal war based on a lie, allowing our foreign policy to be dictated by George Bush.

Despite overseeing the virtual death of British manufacturing.

Despite a complete lack of control over UK borders.

Despite a horrendously ineffective justice system.

A man lucky enough to have never faced effective opposition.

A man whose greatest achievement was to employ exceptionally good spin doctors to bury bad news and maximise the exposure of the token gestures offered to appease or silence those who opposed his decisions.

A great legacy.

We'll know in about 50 years time when the middle east finally looks civilised. People will praise Blair's judgement.

That is his problem. He wants to decide and he's afraid, quite rightly, that the Nation will pick something else- The Iraq fiasco, for example.

I suppose you could argue that he single-handedly converted a largely bipartisan political environment into two right-leaning parties rather than one left-leaning and one right-leaning.
