There's some really good meds on the market for migraines that work like relpax and imitrex. They're not dangerous if you don't have heart problems. If you do, then try peppermint and lavender essential oil from Young Living. This stuff is like magic. I usually take a couple of Motrin because it's an anti-inflammatory, and then rub the oils on my forehead, temples, cheek-bones, behind my neck, anywhere I'm having pain. You may need to mix these in a carrier oil if you've never used them before, like olive or apricot oil.

Hope you find your cure. Migraines suck. In fact, I have a sinus one right now :(.

p.s.

My allergist told me there are a large number of people where chocolate sets the migraine off, so you might try laying off that to see if that helps. And caffeine helps sometimes with migraines as well.

p.p.s

Thought of some more cures. The cold packs work if you use them on your forehead, and back of the neck, while dipping your feet in icy cold water on and off in a darkened room. Then try to sleep like others have said. That's worked for me when I had a particularly bad one.

Actually, sleep is good combined with all of these remedies. Again, I hope you find what works!

I wish it was that easy. Find out what triggers your migraines and avoid those things. It can be caffeine, red wine or other things.
A doctor can give further information about the work required to figure some of these out and to prescribe medicines that wll make a difference.

The best answer is to take some migraine medicine, lie in the dark, put a cold small wet towel over your eyes, and sleep for about 6 hours..

A pain reliever w/ caffeine, being well hydrated, a quiet dark room.

This usually works for me, but my doc gave me something for my migraines but it make me feel drunk & I don't like it.
I have noticed over time my migraines are less frequent but stronger, I don't understand that.

Try to avoid them in the first place - apart from certain foods, dehydration & tiredness are common causes. Try to take medication as soon as you feel one coming on (sometimes you get warning signs such as vision changes) -paracetamol + aspirin/ ibuprofen & possibly codeine. Otherwise get prescription drugs.
