The word with 'city' in it hails from a period where there were city states in Greece.Slowly the limits of the city expanded to cover the entire country and now they have crossed even the borders of a country to cover the entire world--the Cosmopolis.In this global village what were prime qualities of a citizen e.g. My country -Right or wrong! have become obsolete.The loyalty will have to be loyalty to the entire world not a part of it at the expence of other parts.World conquerers like Shikandar are no more ideals. Take pride in positive achievement from anywhere in the world because you are also a legimate heir to it.The emancipation of slaves by Abraham Lincoln should also inflate our chests. The idea in the Sanskrit phrase 'Vasudhaiv kutumbakam"Universal brotherhood is the order of the day and for all times to come until we extend our borders into space to the plants and the stars.

It depends on the point of view, A good citizen for the government, for you, for others ? And are you really sure that you know the definition of the word citizen ? check out the meaning of the word in a law dictionary. You will be surprised !

A good citizen is one who loves his country most,who has love and respect for his fellow citizens,who respects the rights of his fellow citizens for their life and their property,who never fails in the discharge of his duties honestly and diligently for all his countrymen,who brings pride to his country by his excellent work...and the list is endless
