Two key things are resolution and contrast ratio.
Make sure you find one with a resolution of 1280 X 1024 as a minimum.
The Contrast Ratio should be at least 700:1 This will provide the good text viewing. 500:1 will give you saw tooth text.

It doesn't matter that much, the budget ones anyway are all quite similar. Get one that had a nice design. Also, maybe get one that is guaranteed against dead pixels.
