For weeks now I have suffered with a couple of viruses on my pc. I have run spybot and I have AVG. When I boot up my pc I always get a warning from AVG that a virus has been detected, as if the virus is in something that starts up with the computer. I either heal it or move it to virus vault. I then run AVG but it comes up with nothing. The viruses are Trojan horse proxy and trojan horse downloader generic. I have recently downloaded xoftspy 4.22 and that has found several severe things but how do I know if deleting them will harm my pc. Can anyone please help me. I'm inexpirienced with pc's so be gentle.

If your not sure what something is that is running on your computer just search the name. If it brings up pages about spyware & virus and junk then it should be safe to remove.
After you get your system clean look into Zone alarm, It will help keep your system be blocking the auto downloaders from bring junk into your system.

HEy!
First thngs first DO NOT PANIC !
Relax... ok... i had EXACTLY the same problems...ok... here is wut u need to do.
1) Get a better Security suite: I would suggest that you go for Kaspersky internet security suite version 6 or higher
( www.kaspersky.com ) . I use it and it ROCKS.... how ever the BEST security arsenal would be
Bitdefender antivirus std. 9 + Zone alarm free edition + any Antispy ware soft ware that you like
or
Bitdefender antivirus std. 9 + Outpost firewall ver 3.5 or higher (u wont need any antispyware )
Alternatively if you are fairly ok at understanding new stuff and finding you way around new software i would suggest
NOD32 antivirus + Zone alarm firewall free
2) However br doing tht you can go to
START ----> RUN -----> type 'MSCONFIG'
in the new dialog box look for windows roll back to a previous time.
do it...
and u wud be good

If you know the name of the virus, type the name in the Yahoo search bar and you should get hits on how to remove it. Any time you get a warning on the screen, write down any and all info. to help find the fix.

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.
i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

newayzz... uninstall the AVG software and go for McAfee Anti-Virus.... It is user friendly software.... n ur not gonna to face any problems while removing virus,...
