I'm getting my tongue pierced on Saturday and I'm really, really nervous. How much does it hurt? Is it worse than a bellybutton ring?
Also, what are some rules i should be following after i get it?

The tongue is one of the easiest piercings you can get, as long as you have a good tongue for it and a good piercer.
AFTERCARE: Suck on ice for 3-5 days to help ease swelling. Use BIOTENE MOUTHWASH (@wal-mart) Any time you eat, drink, smoke kiss, touch your bar or let someone else touch your bar. No oral sex for at least 2 1/2 to 3 weeks!!!
If you have any serious issues with it, contact your professional piercer immediately!!!

I've had my lip, my belly button, my septum and my bridge(horizontally and vertically) pierced and I think I have a good experience of piercing pain.
All I know about tongue piercing is that th tongue gets really swollen.
The actual pain comes after they pierce you and you arrive home. You need to be patient and careful.
But the satisfaction is so big that the pain blows away ...
Go for it, just be careful cause if your tongue doesn't return to normal within a month or so you'll probably have a problem!

The worst part of it is when they clamp the big clamp onto the tip of your tounge so the piercer can hold your tounge taut and pierce the needle through. The piercing itself doesn't hurt much. Afterwards, expect to be on a liquid or soft food diet for at least a week. Use the mouthwash or whatever else they give you methodically. And for pete's sake don't kiss anyone or anything for at least 6 weeks. The last thing you need in the piercing is someone else's bacteria. Good luck!!

My girlfriend was very nervous before piercing her nose. She got very shocked when she didn't experience any pain at all. She pierced it again and is willing to pierce it for a third time!

Just make sure the process is clean and take care because piercings vanish easily!

no it doesnt hurt like a belly ring does....the pain only lasts a day or two and it is bearable unlike the belly ring where it lasts for months and you cant move much...if you really really like to pierce your tongue, its worth the pain...but if you dont think it is, then dont...i had mine a year ago and it was cool...
